Nodame Cantabile Lesson 1

Been a while since I have posted anything! Looks like I can make it at least one post a week now....too many assignments to think about at the moment...I have no time to rest!

Muwaha the first episode of Nodame Cantabile! I just thought that this might look like a good drama and it turns out to be one of the most delightful and fun dramas to watch ever! By the way, the main character who is a girl is based off a real person playing the piano (and is messy); though the drama is fictatious.

Rhapsody of the weird pianist vs. the self-centered conductor
(30 screencaps)

Prague is the beginning of a boy's tale~ set 10 years before

Maestro conducting the orchestra. His name is Vieira.

Looking back, he loved his lessons with Vieira when he was a young-un. But he wanted more than anything to conduct instead of learning the piano.

Unfortunately, he had to return to Japan because his mother wanted to. Therefore, he said his goodbyes to his teacher, Vieira, and will come back to once again be his pupil.

But the plane crashed (ahem I mean plane model) and caused a tramatic incident. Now he can't return because of his flight phobia. Interesting story right???? This is just the beginning! Reveal the full post to find out more! Or better yet! Go watch it and spread the love for it!!

Back to the current time, the main character suddenly rushed to hear this person play piano. He is really amazed at the sound. Then he was dragged by someone.....his name Shinichi was callled by a woman.

That woman is...Saiko. She is mocking Shinichi and laughing at his phobia to fly out of the country. Just at the slight mention of the phobia, he goes into multiple spasms! wahaha and she hates him too...(Click to enlarge)

Shinichi then got drunk and passed out. This girl walked by and helped him.

He woke up in the morning at a garbage room?!

She remembered his name - Chiaki Senpai (meaning 'senior' in school) - so they both go to the same school.

Chiaki run out the door only to find that they live next door. Funny how he couldn't her because of all that garbage.

They both have the same piano teacher now. He wants Chiaki to play Mozart sonata alongside Nodame. Nodame however only learns by ear and not so much on technique or reading music. Chiaki promised to teach her and perform in 3 days.

Chiaki got mad and started over turning things and clean up the room.

Famous pot of cream stew that has gone black!

Once it was cleaned, he cooked for her too...aww~ she can't even cook for herself...is only able to burn her food.

Next morning, Violinist Mine is off to music class. Another regular.

Some random person taking photos of everybody. He's creepy

Well you can guess what kind of a person Afro-hair guy is like. His name is Masumi! One of my favourite!

Nodame met the creepy man lol. Nodame then ended up at Chiaki Senpai's house and just invited the creepy man.

Ooo he is angry about the picture with Vieira. Chiaki then kicked him out.

Oh well a bath is now in order for Nodame! Well she was asking for it! Stinks~

haha poor girl who doesn't like to be clean (Click to enlarge), but later enjoys being blow-dried.

Don't forget that Chiaki was also teaching Nodame her part to the song. As promised, they have to play it for the teacher.

Collaboration is awesome! This is the part to watch and hear!

Finally deciding to change divisions and learn conducting instead, Chiaki went to the office. But there was a lot of commotion about Stresseman (a very accomplished conductor) in the school.

It turns out that the creepy man is Stresseman from Europe who wants to form an orchestra in the school.

The teacher's scrutinised the photos and was shocked that Stresseman wanted to form an orchestra with less talented and moderate instrumentalists. The end of Lesson 1!~

Extra notes:
Usually, musicians learn the piano before they broaden out to other instruments. This is generally because it is easier for musicians to then pick up other instruments having been disciplined and taught treble clef and bass clef on the piano. With conducting, many instruments play and travel differently, therefore universally, when you study music at any academy or university, you really need to learn how to play the piano.
